"When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men" Eph 4:8

The tree of life and sunrise symbolize the life of Christ growing in us through
The Resurrection. The shafts of wheat signify the presence of Christ for us in
The Eucharist. This is a symbol in keeping with the name of our parish.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Our Multi-Cultural Celebration!

Our second annual Multi-Cultural event is planned for Saturday, June 30th, so mark your calendar. It is planned for the same holiday weekend as last year, which was a huge success and enjoyed by all those that filled the gym! Last year we started with the procession of countries into the 5:00 PM mass, which featured various different cultural aspects. The main event in the gym afterwards had display tables from different countries, ethnic food dishes from around the world and an entertainment program with performances from different cultures. We have some of the countries from last year already participating, but we want to add as many as possible to highlight our diverse cultures coming together as one community in Christ. Are you interested in having your country or ethnic group represented? Can you help in some other way? We will have a table set up in the foyer on the weekend of May 5-6 to promote the event and a kick-off meeting on Monday, May 7th at 7PM at the church in Room 8. If you want more information you can contact Dee Thomson at 403 275-8905.

Ascension Parishioners, please watch your children while playing around the Baptismal Font. Please do not allow them to throw coins, candy wrappers, coffee stir sticks, marbles or any other objects in the font. The font's filter was broken and had to be replaced at a high cost for the church.

As many of you know we have changes taking place to our liturgy that begin on November 27th. To help us in this transition we have attached a special sheet to the bulletin for you to take home  that will explain what the changes are and how to implement them. As well we have special sheets in the pews with the new responses and postures on them for your convenience, feel free to look in them, but please leave them in the pews for everyone to use.
