Infant Baptism (infant to 6 years of age)
Baptism is the sacrament of faith which has the Risen Christ as its source, and it is the offer of salvation for all people. Intimately linked to Confirmation and to Eucharist, Baptism is, with these two sacraments, Christian initiation. The child is baptised in the faith of his/her parents, of his/her Godparents and of the Church. The following guidelines are presented to help you embark upon this journey of faith with Christ and His Church.

SCHOOL AGED BAPTISMS (GRADE 2 - GRADE 6)
There are a number of children in our Catholic schools who have not received the Sacrament of Baptism. Our Parish will be offering “Baptism for Children” in cooperation with our Catholic Schools for students in grades 2-6. We will be working with the school to educate and nurture your children in their spiritual journey.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org by January 12, 2018 if you would like your child to take part in this Sacrament.
We will require the following information.
When you contact us, we will send you the baptism package. With this program, we are inviting you and your child to attend two baptism preparation sessions that will take place at Ascension Parish on Saturday January 20, 2018 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm and January 27, 2018 from 11:30am to 12:30pm.
The sessions will be an opportunity to share the teachings of the Church regarding Baptism. We have developed the session to be fun and informative, while nurturing your child’s journey in faith.
