Baptism For Children
Ascension Catholic Parish offers three Baptism Programs

Infant Baptism  - newborn to age 6

School Age Baptism - grades 1-6

Baptism for Infants please read the information below

Baptism is the first step into your Child's faith journey. The following guidelines are presented to help you embark upon this journey of faith with Christ and His Church. 

In preparation for the Baptism, Ascension Catholic Parish requires the following paperwork: 

• Baptism Registration Form
• Parish Registration Form - Please register your family on our website.
• Copy of child's Birth Certificate
• Copy of parent(s) Catholic Baptismal Certificate 
• Copy of Godparent(s) Baptismal Certificate / Catholic Confirmation Certificate 
  • ​Families can choose one or two Godparents, one male and one female. One has to be a practicing Catholic and the second can be Catholic or of a Christian Faith. Please note that we require Baptism Certificates for both Godparents and for Catholic Godparents a copy of their Confirmation Certificates or an annotated Baptism Baptism Certificate with a Confirmation notation  
• Non-Catholic Parents, Permission to Baptize Form - emailed upon receiving the registration
• ​Non-Catholic Parents Commitment of Faith Form - emailed upon receiving the registration

Baptism Preparation Class - for families with two or less children.

• Mandatory attendance for parents 
• Classes are on the following dates:
  • October 22nd 
  • November 19th 
  • December No Class
  • January 21st 2025
  • February 25th 
  • March 18th 
  • April No Class
  • May 27th
  • June 24th
  • July No Class
  • August 26th 
• ​Baptism Classes are at Ascension Catholic Parish,              1100 Berkshire Blvd. NW, Calgary
• Classes time: 6:00-7:00pm
• Only need to attend one class
• Godparents are welcomed to attend the Preparation Class
  

Belonging - Family Online Course
All families are to participate in Belonging, an online Pre-Baptism course in their homes. The fee for the course is $20.00 Upon receiving your registration, the course information will be emailed to you. 

Sacrament of Baptism
Ascension Catholic Parish offers Baptism's on Saturday's at 10:00am and Sunday's at 2:00pm. The Sacrament Coordinator will set up the Baptism date with you once the requirements are completed.
