Welcome to Baptism at Ascension Catholic Parish. Baptism is the first Initiation Sacrament with the Risen Christ and it is the offer of salvation for all people. The child is baptized in the Catholic faith of his/her parents, of his/her Godparents and of the Church. The following guidelines are presented to help you embark upon this journey of faith with Christ and His Church.
In preparation for the Baptism, Ascension Parish requires the following paper work,
Non-Catholic Parents, Permission to Baptize Form - emailed upon receiving the registration
Non-Catholic Parents Commitment of Faith Form - emailed upon receiving the registration
Baptism Preparation Class
Mandatory attendance for parents
Classes are on the following dates:
September 9th
October - No class
November 4th
December 2nd
Classes are held in the Church
Only need to attend one class
Godparents are welcomed to attend the Preparation Class
Godparents
Godparents must be 16 or older, one male and one female, and one Godparent must be a Confirmed Catholic.
Godparents not baptized in the Catholic Faith will be referred to as a Christian Witness
Godparents will need to submit a copy of their Baptism Certificates
Sacrament of Baptism Ascension Catholic Parish offers Baptism's on Saturday's at 10:00am and Sunday's at 2:00pm. The Sacrament Coordinator will set up the Baptism date with you once the paperwork and Baptism Class has been completed.
